The Sunken Terrace

History

The house's south face already fell away toward the far grounds, so Jules excavated the west half of it down to cellar level and retained it in sandstone reclaimed from the north house. The gym opens onto it through six folding glazed doors. It is the only ground on the property that stays damp.

Right now

The doors stay folded back until October. Skylar works out down here looking at the retaining wall, which was the entire point of not putting mirrors up.
