History

Nine feet across and seating eight, sunk flush into a stone terrace directly off the west end of the Loggia and screened by the grove on the other three sides. Jules built the two together, because water you have to cross the garden to reach on a cold evening is water nobody uses, and a fire you cannot get to in a towel warms nobody up. Four steps from the great room doors to the water.

Right now

Lit and warm most evenings, whether or not anyone gets in. It seats all six of them at once, which nothing else outdoors does.
